Phoenix Rising: A Star is Born

She walked into the bar seeking peace and oblivion.  Victory was exhausted from a long day searching for a child who had suddenly vanished.  The parents had hired Victory for her Special Skills in tracking down missing people.  Most thought Victory was just really good at her job.  Only a few, close confidantes knew the true reasons why Victory always found whomever she sought.  Dead or Alive.

Today was especially rough because the lost soul was a seven year-old girl named Rebecca.  Rebecca had been playing in her front yard one minute and was gone the next.  Her mother was hysterical and could not stop blaming herself.  The father was trying to be supportive but Victory could see it was weighing him down.  Victory felt the weight herself.  So much responsibility.  So many depending on Victory.  She needed a break from it for just a while to reset and redirect.  A bit of hibernation, if you will, to restore her Powers.

This pub was known for having the best Absinthe around, plus Hannah, Victory's friend who ran the place, made the best mushroom tea Victory had ever tried.  Hannah whipped a mushroom trip into quite the Delicious experience, a smooth and savory sail into a Sensory Exploration.  Victory planned to use the Interlude to not only reconnect with the Universe, but to call on Surrounding Spirits in the Cosmos.  Any Sentient beings who could guide Victory to Rebecca.

Victory slumped in her booth as she waited for her drinks.  She stretched her legs out on the scarred nagahyde already ripped from the heels of so many boots resting in just the same pose.  Victory closed her eyes, trying her best to block out the noisy patrons nearby.  She had little patience for others at the moment.  She was on her last nerve.  It wouldn't take much for her to release the Beast inside.  Victory struggled to keep that part of her contained.  Sublimation is a Beautiful thing.

She focused on decompressing.  Victory practiced her vinyasa breathing and kept her mind settled on the mental image she always fell back on.  The colorful Mandala never failed to bring her back in Balance.  Victory's pulse had almost stopped pounding when a deep, baritone interrupted her silent meditation.  Victory raised one irritated brow, making it clear she did not care for the intrusion.  "Well, speak up.  What is it?" she mocked.  Victory scanned the tall man standing in front of her.  His long, black hair hung in lovely waves over his dusty, leather jacket.

The blue-eyed devil grinned impishly as he held his motorcycle helmet like a shield before him.  He said, "You're the Lady looking for that kid, right?  I'm here to help.  My name's Dempsey."  Victory sneered at his proffered hand.  "I don't need any help.  I've got this.  Thanks, but you can go back where you came from," she retorted dismissively.  Dempsey chuckled at her biting reply.  "We can all use a little help now and then.  What makes you any different?"

Victory felt the vein pulsing on her forehead.  She could detonate any second.  "Listen, dude, I don't want or need your man-splaining.  Get out of my face before I make you."  Dempsey smiled brighter.  "Okay, Lovely, I'll be in the area if you change your mind."  He started to walk off but turned back to say, "By the way, I see you.  I know what you are.  Have fun with that tea."  He tipped his imaginary hat and sauntered away just as Hannah was bringing Victory's beverages.  "That one sure was a looker," Hannah drooled as she dropped of the drinks then headed behind the counter.  'A pesky one too,' thought Victory.

Victory was the Best tracker there ever was.  She did not need some man tagging along, thinking he had come to Her rescue.  Victory did the rescuing.  All she needed was a little rest, relaxation, and Reignition.  Then she would have the fuel she required to channel the Magical Energy flowing through her.  Seriously! Who did he think he was anyway? Victory could not remember the last person who got under her skin so badly.  Those azure eyes were definitely Not haunting her thoughts.  That arrogant smile was Not making her mouth water, and her fingers were certainly Not tingling, literally itching to thread themselves through that silky mane.  'Knows what she is'.  What is that supposed to mean anyhow?  Okay, so he found out Victory is a Witch.  So what?  It's not like this is Salem back in the dark ages.  Some might keep their distance if they knew, but Victory didn't think it would be that big of a deal.  It wasn't something she broadcast, but she wasn't scared of folks knowing or anything.

Victory decided to take the drinks to go and flee back to the solitude of her beach front sanctuary.  There, she would be able to center herself once more.  There would be no lingering smell of pure, musky male to distract her from her journey.  She would go to her secluded spot in the sand, under the stars, and commune with the Triple Moon Goddess.  Victory needed her now more than ever if she hoped to find little Rebecca.

Once home, Victory sipped her absinthe while readying for her Witching Hour Ritual.  Finally feeling mellow, she downed the tea and indulged in a cleansing bath spell while waiting for the mushrooms to do their work.  Hannah was known for her potent brews so it shouldn't take long.  Victory wrapped herself in her black, satin kimono and slipped into the darkness.  The beach was private.  No one would see her on her piece of Paradise.

Victory spread her blanket on the smooth, white sand and molded herself into Shavasana position.  She stared into the Heavens, the Moon her Beacon in the building whirlwind of Colors and Lights.  Then Victory chanted:

I Hail Hecate

 Trinity of Divinity

Ancient Siren Persephone

Manifest Your Sight in Me

Help Me so that I can See

Lead Me to this precious child

 Innocent, sweet, and Wild

I am Your Vessel so let Me be your Well

Fill Me with your Magic so I may Prevail

Guide Me to Your angel lost out in the Night

Let Me bring her home where Love can hold her Tight

Send Me to the Story

Point Me to the Way

Show the World Your Glory

With Your Shining Ways

Direct Me to Rebecca and Clear Away the Haze

The tea had done its job.  Victory was swept into the Vortex of Lights and Shadows.  A Purple glow painted the fluffy clouds above her.  She closed her eyes and melted into the comforter.  She rode the Chaos like a wave, surfing the tide; searching for a soul in the Sea of Spirals who could send Victory in the proper direction.  Victory surrendered to the Flood of Sensations swimming through her.  Her hand dipped between her legs.  She fingered her pussy, sparking Energy that Supercharged her Sorcery like a battery.

Victory levitated into the Mist as her Enchantment carried her on Invisible Currents.  She was a living tuning fork; a Sensual Star in the Navy Nimbus.  She floated into the atmosphere letting Hecate choose the way that was Clear.  Victory stilled her mind and Listened; opening herself to the Mystery.  Just as the Sun tinged the Sky, Victory felt a Presence.  Then she heard Their subtle whispers:

I am Iris, See Me Shine

Look to the Rainbow for Guidance Divine

Then Eurynome held Victory Oh so Lovingly

Blessed Be Eurynome, Goddess of Sublime Ecstasy

 Almighty Isis of Mothering

Joined to make a Holy Three

And Showered her Grace on Victory:

We have come to Show you the Way

To Reveal your path through the Fray

We heard your Call, your Heart is True

Have no fear, We are Here with you

Their Love and Protection surrounded the  Witch, bathed her in Serenity, Washed her soul in Rhapsody, and Consecrated her with Divinity.  They left their Healing Touch on her body.  Then Iris breathed into her ear and said the words Victory longed to hear:

I have a Message, wafted on the Winds

This is where your Mission Begins

The little child, Rebecca, was stolen by a Troll

You will have to hurry if you hope to save her Soul

The hideous creature travels underground

He tunneled underneath her and barely made a sound

He trapped her without warning and took her to his lair

Search for what is Hidden and you will find her there

They supported the Sorceress in caring Arms, then like a dream the Trio was gone.  Their Beauty lived on like a Song, and Victory felt sheltered from the Throng.  She drifted back to Earth, renewed with Purpose and Rebirth.  Naked and Free in the Morning Light, fueled by Hope and Holy Sight; refreshed and ready to begin the Fight.  Victory was Blissful.  She had received more than she could have hoped.  Victory had been Rewarded by the Sacred.  She knew what she had to do.  She vowed Rebecca would be home before this day was through. Victory basked in the breaking Dawn.  She soaked in the sunshine, joyful from her brush with the Deities and happy that she had been Shown how to find the stolen child.  Her Powers had been Invigorated.  No one could stand in her way.

"Apparently, I spoke too soon," Victory thought because suddenly a shadow blocked her from the sun.  She opened her eyes and scowled into the sea blue ones of the person she least wanted to see.  That self-assured smile made her want to scream.  How dare he disrupt her pleasant reverie?!  He stood there looking delicious with his hair tied back in a ponytail, wearing nothing but black, running shorts and sneakers.  That gleaming smile widened and he beamed, "Hello there, little mermaid.  Did Aphrodite wash you ashore just for me?"

"As if," Victory snapped.  "Why are you on My Beach, Dummsey or whatever your name is?

He laughed, pretending she did not just get his name wrong on purpose.  "It's Dempsey, darling.  I was out for a jog and had to stop in my tracks when I saw you laying there, naked and glowing like a star.  I dare say you look almost reborn.  If I didn't know better I would say you've got a solar flare in there"  He pointed at her belly.  I guess your trip was tantalizing.  At least it has been for me."

Victory was speechless.  There went that nerve in her forehead again, and just when she had been feeling so zen.  Victory found her voice, "Ha! Ha! You are so funny.  You are also trespassing on My Beach, Dumpsey."  Victory stared into those sapphire gems then down to his muscled chest.  From there, her gaze dropped to where his wet running shorts hugged his hips.  His rather large package was expanding by the minute.  Victory tried to concentrate and smirked, "I've got stuff to do so if you could be on your merry way that would be great."  But her stare stayed glued to his groin.

"You say that but your eyes are telling me something different."  Dempsey waited for another stabbing remark, but Victory just kept staring.  He took that as an invitation and settled between her legs.  His tongue dove between her pussy lips and he licked her from top to bottom, then sucked her clit, before diving his tongue between her lips again.  Victory writhed on the blanket.  She was still overstimulated from her mushroom trip.  It heightened her ecstasy and she squirted all over Dempsey's face, washing him in her gentle rain.  She flipped him onto his back to return the favor.  Victory took his rigid dick into her mouth in a slow sensual slide to his base and back up to the tip.  She twirled her tongue around the sensitive slit and then replaced her mouth with her tight cunt. He was so thick.  Victory savored the friction as she pounded herself against him.  She lost herself in a frenzy of fucking.  Dempsey screamed her name as they came together in their sandy haven.  Victory took a moment to relish the comfort of being circled in his arms, then jumped to her feet.

"Seriously, I've got stuff to do.  I've got a lead on that kid and I have got to get going.  So, yeah, that was fun, but run along now."  Victory started gathering her things and shaking out the sand.

"Wow, I don't think I have ever had someone run me off that fast before.  I think that's a record."  Dempsey tried not to look offended.

"No need to get all, butt hurt, Romeo.  Finding a child is kind of important.  It's not like I'm going off to get my nails done.  I don't have time to hang out and bond over our random sexscapade."  Victory glared at Dempsey then stalked home to shower and change.  She left him standing there.  He waited to see if she would look back but she didn't.  She just went inside and slammed her door.  Victory had no time to worry about his ego.  A life was at stake and she had to get busy.

Victory called her underworld connections, looking for any information on trolls in the area.  Another location spell couldn't hurt either.  Then she called Hannah and told her what happened with the Ritual and her encounter with the Goddesses.  Victory related all she had discovered and mentioned to Hannah that she had feelers out for information on trolls.  Hannah said, "My grandmother told me lots of stories when I was young about trolls and changelings.  Wonder if that could somehow be related?"

"Oh Great!  Just what we need.  Some big dumb troll thinking Rebecca is his long lost kid, swapped at birth," Victory mused.  Still the idea rang true.  She had that feeling she got when she was on the right trail.

Hannah agreed, "I think you might be on to something."  Then Victory noticed she was getting another call so she told Hannah goodbye to pursue the next lead.  That was when Dempsey strutted into Hannah's bar and ordered a Guiness. Hannah drawled, "Hello again Tall, dark, and sexy.  Nice to see you back."  Hannah was obvious she was interested in serving more than a beer to the Newcomer.

Dempsey was oblivious to her attentions.  He could not stop thinking about his "sexscapade" as She called it, with Victory this morning.  It was true, Dempsey had been with a lot of women but Victory was monopolizing his brain like no one ever had.  He wondered if it was because she was like him.  He didn't think she even knew.  He said, "Did I hear you on the phone with Victory?  I don't understand why she won't let me help her with this case?  What could it hurt?"  Dempsey looked to Hannah to explain her friend's motives.

Hannah's face fell.  Oh that's how it is.  He likes Victory.  At least now she knew why he seemed to find her Invisible.  "Victory likes to do things her way. I have never known her to ask for help with anything, but it sounds like she has some good leads now and she said she thinks she is going to have Hannah home today, tomorrow at the latest.  Something about a troll."  Hannah told Dempsey the details of her conversation with Victory.

Dempsey was alarmed.  Trolls were dangerous, nearly indestructible.  Everything in him shouted he needed to find Victory as soon as possible.  He chugged his Guiness, which was a crime in itself, and ran out the door.

Meanwhile, Victory was in the woods....

Stay tuned for what happens Next
